The team searched Lang Howe and Raw Pike areas {Grasmere and Langdale sides) after local residents at Grasmere had seen two white flares high on the fells. The search was called off at 11.00 p.m. and nothing was found.
Footnote: The weather was very good, with clear skies. This was a false alarm with good intent.
