Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) operates in part of the central Lake District, Britain's busiest mountain area.
Dealing with over 100 incidents per year, we are a self-funding dedicated team of 'professional volunteers' coming from all walks of life, united in their love of mountains and their wish to help their fellow mountaineers in trouble.

NWAS requested assistance with evacuating a casualty on Windermere lake shore.
We were made aware of a high risk missing person in the Grasmere area. Place requested a limited search of key areas. The missing person was located, sadly deceased, in small quarry by team drone operators. He was removed to Ambleside
We were requested by NWAS to attend a woman with a shoulder injury at Galava Fort in Ambleside. Investigation revealed that the casualty had self-rescued
This weekend we have hosted a visit from the Norwegian People’s Aid (Norsk Folkehjelp). They spent a few days with us, sharing knowledge on methods, equipment and structures. They were also able to witness two rescues take place and assisted on the second. They also spent a day with Keswick MRT
