Landrovers in the dark

Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) operates in part of the central Lake District, Britain's busiest mountain area.

Dealing with over 100 incidents per year, we are a self-funding dedicated team of 'professional volunteers' coming from all walks of life, united in their love of mountains and their wish to help their fellow mountaineers in trouble.

Ask yourself 3 questions before you set off:

Do I have the right GEAR?

Do I know what the WEATHER will be like?

Am I confident I have the KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS for the day?

Be Adventure Smart

Sadly, Kitt died last night after a short illness.

For those of you who might not know, Kitt was not only a great family pet but a LDMRSDA search dog attached to Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team between 2009 and 2015. She assisted with many rescues throughout the lakes, as well as one or two in Yorkshire, Lancashire and Scotland.
