Incident Report #71 2005

A couple in their 40s from Settle, with two dogs, phoned to say that they were lost on the Crinkles, with darkness rapidly approaching. After talking to them we deduced that they were probably in the Long Top area. They were directed downhill towards Moasdale, where they met by personnel dispatched to avoid a lengthy night search! The couple had no torch and weather was due to worsen and prevention is better than cure! They were located at Throstle Garth and escorted back to the valley. We were assisted by Wasdale MRT.
