Stickle Tarn, Gt Langdale, Grasmere, Easedale Tarn

Friday

Four teenage schoolgirls and one female school teacher from Radcliffe, Manchester were reported lost by other members of the school party. The team searched from the Grasmere and Langdale sides of Stickle Tarn. The Team found this group at 8.30pm near Tarn Crag, Langdale they were escorted from the fellside.
Footnote:This was a complete shambles, because this party had only come up to Lakeland for a day trip and only to visit Brockhole and Dove Cottage. They had no fellwalking equipment at all. For some reason they took to the fell at Grasmere to walk via Easedale Tarn - Stickle Tarn then to Langdale to be reunited with the coach.Nobody has yet explained why this party (40 in all) took this 'walk' at 2.30pm in the afternnon when they only had1 hour of daylight left. Clothing - school uniform, shoes, long white socks, town clothes etc. - VERY LUCKY INDEED.
Weather conditions: DARK, COLD, SHOWERS, WET UNDERFOOT

Duration: unknown hours

Team Members: unknown
