Incident Report #33 2010

A 17-year-old girl, on a D  of E training expedition, collapsed, probably from a combination of exhaustion and hypothermia. The team set off, requesting assistance from air ambulance. She was evacuated by them, and we escorted the remainder of the party to the valley, then retirned them to their planned campsite at Wasdale Head. Life being anything but simple, we were then flagged down from the roadside by a man whose walking companion had taken a fall on Scafell, sustaining head, lower back and rib injuries. We were able to contact an ambulance and request help and stabilised the man until the ambulance arrived. Late for dinner!
