We have an ongoing program to replace equipment that has reached the end of its serviceable life, either because it has worn out, broken or reached its expiry date.

If you wish to make a donation, you may like to make it for a specific purpose listed here. If you are a manufacturer or importer you may like to consider donating the items directly. If the list is blank, that doesn't mean we don't need your financial help, it just means that there isn't anything specific at present. We still have our other expenses such as fuel, insurance, heating and lighting, vehicle maintenance etc., etc.

For information on the different way to give to us see our donation page.

Our current needs include:

  • Swiftwater Rescue Equipment. Our present kit is on need of upgrade and replacement, with some of our drysuits failing the 'Ronseal' test...they don't do what they say on the tin...falling short on the 'dry' aspect!
  • We are currently reviewing our medical kit. Two new casualty monitoring devices will cost in the region of £10000. Thanks.
  • Pies....and bread. Nothing like a pie or toast and jam to make up for a missed meal. In the absence of having Gordon Ramsay or Nigella Lawson to knock a little something up after a long spell on the hills, pies and toast will do just fine. Not expensive, but an ongoing cost, and much appreciated by the 'troops'.

Our recent acquisitions have included:

  • Landrover Ambulance. The final vehicle in our fleet has now been replaced. Funded by donations made to our collecting boxes. Thanks.
  • 12 USE Maxx D torches. List price £300 each. Reliable and effective torches are as important for us as they are for the victims we rescue. These aren't cheap(!) but use by other MRTs suggest that they will do the job.
  • 35 sets of winter waterproofs, approx cost £130 per set. Now purchased with a second donation from the Lady Angela Rooker Memorial Fund; the first a significant amount that helped equip our new base in 2004.
  • 5 x Hand-torches. Purchased by donation in memory of Dave Kelsey.
  • 20 x Climbing helmets. Approx cost £50.00 each.
  • 4 x Buoyancy aids. Approx cost £100.00 each.
