Incident Report #15 2024

A couple were unable to continue when they were overcome by snow and cold. They were located and assisted from the hill in very difficult conditions, during which a helicopter attempted to assist but was unable due to severe weather. Team members endured strong winds and heavy, deep snow. If we had not been able to locate them and get them down, it's fair to say the outcome could have been significantly different

Incident Report #65 2023

Sometimes we have an incident that just leaved you baffled and perplexed... a family group 'lost' a 19-year-old member when she 'wandered off' on the way to Loft Crag. Our 'normal' procedure in these circumstances is to contain the remaining group and locate the missing person, however this does require a certain level of cooperation from the group and this was not forthcoming... by 1830 all members of the group had been accounted for with the original lost person turning up in Langstrath, and another one who'd gone 'searching' for her located at Stake Pass...

Incident Report #52 2023

A man and woman became separated while walking over Crinkle Crags. The man waited at Three Tarns then reported the woman missing. She eventually turned up at the Old Dungeon Ghyll car park having somehow passed him at Three Tarns and continuing her walk over Bowfell in the hope of catching him up... which, given he had descended The Band when he gave up, was pretty unlikely. We can only assume the drive home was a tense one...
